About the Council Bluffs Rifle & Pistol Club
Council Bluffs Rifle & Pistol Club was founded in 1965 after realizing that a group effort would provide greater opportunities to improve knowledge and skill with firearms than could be accomplished individually. After 10 years of growth in membership and financial resources, the decision was made to purchase land for a range. Since then, the 20 acres located off L-34 has been developed into a twenty point covered concrete bench firing line with fixed targets at 100 and 200 yards. We also offer portable target frames for flexibility to shoot at shorter distances.
Today, in addition to offering open shooting hours to our members and their guests, we host a variety of matches. This provides the opportunity for fellow shooting enthusiasts to compete with those of fellow interests.
Our mission is the encouragement and betterment of organized shooting sports in our community and the surrounding area with a focus on expanding knowledge on the safe handing and proper care of firearms as well as improved marksmanship.
